A Secure Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector Routing Protocol for Ad Hoc Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a secure destination-sequenced distance-vector (SDSDV) routing protocol for mobile ad hoc wireless networks. The proposed protocol is based on the regular DSDV protocol. Within SDSDV, each node maintains two one-way hash chains about each node in the network. Two additional fields, which we call AL (alteration) field and AC (accumulation) field, are added to each entry of the update packets to carry the hash values. With proper use of the elements of the hash chains, the sequence number and the metric values on a route can be protected from being arbitrarily tampered. In comparison with the secure efficient ad hoc distance vector (SEAD) protocol previously proposed in the literature provides only a non-decreasing protection on the metrics, SDSDV can provide complete protection.

Evaluation of Secure Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs)
Mobile Ad hoc networks (MANETs) have several advantages compared to traditional wireless networks. These include ease of deployment, speed of deployment and decreased dependency on a fixed infrastructure. There have been many studies done in this area to improve the quality and efficiency of the routing protocols in MANETs. However unique characteristics of MANETs topology such as open peer-to-...

In this paper, an effort was made to analyze the performance of Routing Protocols for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks. Wireless networks can be classified in two types: infrastructured wireless networks and infrastructureless (ad hoc) wireless networks. Ad hoc networks are characterized by the need for efficient routing protocols. According to previous research, the Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector...

In recent years, routing has been the most focused area in ad hoc networks research. On-demand routing in particular, is widely developed in bandwidth constrained mobile wireless ad hoc networks because of its effectiveness and efficiency. Most proposed on-demand routing protocols are built and relied on single route for each data session. Whenever there is a link disconnection on the active ro...
متن کاملSEAD: Secure Efficient Distance Vector Routing for Mobile Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
An ad hoc network is a collection of wireless computers (nodes), communicating among themselves over possibly multihop paths, without the help of any infrastructure such as base stations or access points. Although many previous ad hoc network routing protocols have been based in part on distance vector approaches, they have generally assumed a trusted environment. In this paper, we design and e...
متن کاملT Secured - destination Sequenced Distance Vector ( SSDV ) Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad - hoc Networks
A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a group of wireless mobile nodes dynamically shaping a provisional network devoid of the use of any existing network infrastructure or centralized management. In MANETs, security is the major challenge due to the dynamic topology which is because of the mobility of the nodes. In this paper, we propose a design and develop a secure methodology incorporated with...
